Amazing to be supporting St Michael’s Hospice – Hereford with Brightwells Plant & Machinery Auctioneers through the brilliant Golf Day we held at Burghill Valley GC back a few months ago. Here’s our president Andy Banks and Brightwells lead and member Steve Powis handing over the cheque to Matt Ashcroft at St Michael’s Hospice….
He explained what they do and how they would use the funds. “At St Michael’s Hospice we provide round-the-clock expert care at our hospice in Bartestree, in people’s own homes, and across the wider Herefordshire community. Whether someone needs symptom control, daily home visits, or a peaceful place to spend their final days, we bring care to wherever it’s needed most. Being independent from the NHS, we receive only 31% of the cost of care from the government, and therefore this gift of £2,000 supports the 69% shortfall.
Your generosity ensures that each moment of care is delivered by a skilled team of doctors, nurses, palliative care support workers, social workers, counsellors, therapists, chaplains and volunteers who all work together to provide seamless, compassionate support with the patient and their family at its core. Thank you” Hereford Elgar Rotary raises funds for local, national and international causes and our club enjoys a great fun atmosphere mostly revolving around business and food!
