Generally it’s made up of business people, farmers, professionals, and volunteers
They meet up regularly (often over a meal)
They raise money and organise projects to help people locally and around the world
Big focus on things like:
clean water
education
health
supporting young people
A well-known example:
Rotary has helped wipe out most of polio worldwide
In one sentence:
Rotary is a friendly network of people who get together to do practical good in the world.
