What a brilliant way to round off the Rotary year – with good food, great company, and a proper Herefordshire setting.

Around 35 Rotarians and guests gathered at Bad Harvest Barn to celebrate the end of Phil Gorringe’s presidential year and welcome in our new President, Andy Banks. The sun shone, the drinks flowed, and it was a relaxed, cheerful afternoon with plenty of time to catch up, have a laugh, and reflect on what’s been a fantastic year for Elgar Rotary.
Phil gave a short roundup of our highlights – from supporting Lee’s Place and twinning with Cherkasy Rotary in Ukraine to helping various local, national, and international causes. Our fundraising efforts have gone from strength to strength too, particularly the fireworks at Tupsley and the ever-popular Bartestree Beer and Cider Festival.
The food was top-notch – beef burgers and sausages straight from the farm, veggie quiche, heaps of salads, and not one but three summer puds (yes, we tried them all). Drinks included everything from Jim Kenyon’s Ale and Gwatkin’s cider to fizz, wine, and plenty of soft options.
Andy was officially welcomed in as President and gave a few warm words about the year ahead and a new focus and team.
Thanks to everyone who made the day happen – and to everyone who came along and made it special. Here’s to another year of doing some good whilst enjoying the ride.
