Our Trip to Madley communication station

📡 This week’s programme visit took us to Madley communication station, with a guided tour kindly given by Nick of BT. There was such a huge amount of information and history to learn – best fact: the largest dish, as seen in the photo, is designed to receive a signal from a satellite in space which is as strong as you warming your hands on Earth from a two-bar heater on the Moon. It is an incredibly important piece of international infrastructure right here in our county. A fantastic evening, thank you Nick! 🛰

Then we went to the pub, where oldest member Rob introduced new member Rhianon, and youngest member Byron introduced new member Juliet, welcomed by President Bobby Morris. We look forward to seeing our new friends enjoy their time with Rotary 🍻
